Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some questions we often encounter. If you don’t see a question related to your inquiry, please proceed by contacting us!

Do you accept digital copies of the registration forms/health forms?

We are required by the Orange County Department of Health to retain physical records of all campers. Printing these documents for every camper will adversely impact our printers’ performance (shared with other departments). Please contact us if you wish to express your extenuating circumstances.

To save on postage fees, please consider dropping off these forms at our headquarters (CCHC Herald Mission Center – 156-03 Horace Harding Expy, Flushing NY 11367)

May I call my child while they are away at the campsite?

We have a strict no cellphone policy at our campsite for several reasons. (1) Camp Herald aims to provide a place where campers can put down their electronics & enjoy God’s creation in nature. (2) This policy promotes communication/responsibility (sharing with their counselors & fellow campers), and independence, especially for youth with little experience being away from home/family. (3) Due to our location in Harriman State Park, cellular service is limited from most cellular providers. Only staff have access to the Wi-fi router. (4) Camp Herald is not responsible for the loss or damage of these ever-increasing expensive devices.

If you have any concerns, you can always contact us by phone: 718-938-5328 or email: campherald@cchc.org

What is the refund policy?

A full refund can be issued if registration is cancelled one month prior to the date of the session; 50% refund if registration is cancelled 2 weeks prior; and no refund if cancellation occurs within 2 weeks. Please note that the registration fee is nonrefundable.

To speed the process along, please make sure to know the name of the program, camper and session(s), prior to contact us by phone: 718-938-5328 or email: campherald@cchc.org
